Bird’s Marriage

Bird's Marriage

Wearing traditional dress for a symbolic wedding Benno, left, Nikos, Katja, and Pauline, right, celebrate the Sorb story of so-called "Bird's Marriage" in Panschwitz, Germany, Thursday.
The Sorbs, a national German minority located near the German-Polish border, have a legend that kids get sweets from birds in return of being fed during winter.
The children's costumes are equivalents to the original costumes of a Sorbs marriage.
