Persimmons hang out to dry

Persimmons hang out to dry in front of a farmer's home in Kaminoyama, Yamagata Prefecture.
Persimmons are dried outdoors for two to three weeks after being picked. After that, the fruits will be further dried by exposing them to heat for several days before being shipped. By the end of this year, the farmer hopes to ship about 300,000 dried persimmons for New Year's celebrations.
